Minimalist decor is the best thing you can seek for your home. This has managed to gain a place in our hearts through the clutter-free environment that it offers.
Much of its popularity is due to the current lifestyle, where we have little time to relax and we are constantly bombarded with information. Stress builds up, and the last thing we want is to have a mess in the house that does not allow us to rest.
Looking for a tendency opposed to a cluttered house, minimalism, with its philosophy of “less is more” is an intelligent and very elegant solution to our chaos. Keep reading to know how to get organized at home.
Simple tips to get an orderly minimalist home

A cluttered home is a problem that we must solve as soon as possible. As long as we do not order it, every time we see it, we will feel great stress. Before passing the minimalist decor, we must review our entire home and analyze what objects we do not need. This may take a while, but it is the only way we can start cleaning.
The best solution is prevention

As with everything in life, the best problem is the one that does not happen. If we are people who like to collect objects and furniture, we should start working on our self-control.
There are many ways to create a cluttered house: we can buy objects that we really do not need and then simply leave them stacked, or we can also be people who accept objects and gifts from others and then we do not know what to do with them.
No matter the type of disorder, in the end, the result will be the same: the chaos that will be difficult to control. However, today we can have a home with which to be happy and solve our problem of disorder, all thanks to the minimalist style.
Eliminate everything that does not make you happy

The first step to a decluttered home is to ask ourselves if there are objects that do not make us happy but that are in our sight. If these do not offer any positive stimulus to our mood, then the best is to store them or throw them away.
Minimalism depends on the balance

This is a somewhat complex concept to understand. By creating groups of objects or juxtaposing them, we can create areas that are visually balanced. One example is the asymmetrical placement of small portraits or paintings in a corner of our home, but without exaggerating their placement so as not to overload the environment.
If you need professional help, do not be afraid to consult an interior designer. You can also venture on an internet search for more examples with keywords such as “minimalism” or “minimalist decor”.
In every minimalist concept, we need a focal point

When we organize a room with a minimalist style, the most important thing is that we have a clear focal point that will serve as a guideline for the rest of the furniture. Moreau tells us that “we must always include a central, focal point from which the rest of the design will be irradiated”.
The designer also recommends that we use a small map that divides the room into quadrants so that we can order the decoration more easily, and it let us have control of each element such as the color or the artworks.
The focal point should be the center of all the attention of the room, and for this, we need to clear clutter, removing all unnecessary elements that can serve as a distractor and detract from our main point. Do not be condescending and eliminate everything that is not necessary, and you will be closer to a minimalist home.
Floors are a quick way to decorate

Well, fast is relative. If we have a wooden floor, we have half the work ready. If this is not our case, any simple finishing floor will work. Another important detail is that we must eliminate unnecessary carpets or bizarre prints, keeping them simple with neutral colors.
A simple floor can also be highlighted by the use of glazed concrete, achieving a marble-like an effect.
Light is an important aspect of minimalist decoration

Lighting is one of the most important features in minimalist decor. We can play with different sets of lights, between natural and artificial. During the day, keep the blinds and curtains open. At night, use lamps to create controlled environments.
Remember, as with the black color in the paint, the shadows create the sensation of narrow spaces in the home. Do not skimp on luminaries, and avoid leaving corners of the home without the proper brightness.
One way to cover more space with the lights is if we install them on the ceiling since it covers more space than from a sidewall by significantly reducing the angles in which shadows are created.
Get strong enhancements by grouping similar objects

When it comes to minimalist decor, the main thing is to leave open and clean spaces. This does not mean we cannot give it character. The way to do it, according to Moreau, is grouping objects of similar characteristics in small areas.
Of course, not any kind of object works; the designer gives us some suggestions, as they are to group framed images in a section of the wall.
One way to see the clutter in our home is as a set of elements that we can group, but we still do not. Is a hidden potential that we must exploit. The small garments and accessories are an example; how many times have we not left the shoes where they should not? The simple fact of locating them where they should create a big change.
Other elements that we can group in specific areas, and that we usually neglect, are pencils and pens, remote controls, makeup, and stop counting.
Carefully analyze what furniture you can use

Not all furniture works in all rooms. There are pieces that look spectacular in exhibition halls, but not in the middle of your kitchen. Do not just place furniture without meaning; look for what is really needed in the room according to its purpose.
If an object is not frequently used, it is better to store it, donate it or throw it away. This applies to the chairs in our dining set, which we usually only use 2 of the 10 that we have.
As for the shape, the minimalist furniture decor tends to keep figures straight and clean. Simple wooden furniture without any additional carving, or built-in metal, are ideal proposals that keep the general environment simple but elegant.
Simple but striking designs

That the design of the furniture is simple does not mean that it is lacking in contrasting pieces. In a chair, the backrest and armrests should stand out from the rest of the furniture, so that it looks smooth but sure of its shape.
Each angle is important in the minimalist decor. We must take advantage of all the space that is decorated, because the rest will be empty, and we want it to stay that way to preserve order and balance.
In minimalism, it is more important that the pieces we select are appropriate, and not many. We will only use the essentials: a sofa, a table, and the entertainment equipment for the room; the bed, a bedside table and some wardrobe or dresser for the bedroom, and so on.
If we do not need the lamps, because the lighting that is achieved is enough at all times of the day, removing them is ideal to gain more space.
Let the room speak for itself

Finished the decoration work, fly to check the rooms and ask yourself… the furniture I see are only necessary? This very useful question at the beginning of the process will be the key to finish.
If we continue to see objects that are totally unnecessary for the environment we are looking for, then go back to work and get rid of them.
Remember to consider the focal point of our environment, and from it, check every visible corner. If everything is in order, the focal point will remain the most important part of the room, you will not see any disorder from it, and you will feel that you have gained a new space of relaxation from the outside world.
